Save North Eastern Kenya

Hundreds of thousands, mostly women and children are facing eminent starvation in the North Eastern Kenya region. North Eastern Kenya is mainly inhabited by the Somali community who are all Muslims. Their main occupation is pastoralism, moving from place to place in search of water and pasture.

The government of Kenya has called on NGOs to assist as far as possible to avert the growing emergency in North Eastern Kenya, caused by thirst and hunger. The government has allocated an emergency fund for food assistance, but that is not enough. There are extreme famine and thirst in Mandera, Wajir, Garissa, Isiolo and Tana River districts in the Eastern pastoral cluster. Whole communities can be wiped out if they do not get quick assistant. Today International and Human Concern International are launching this appeal to all our supporters to help save the lives of the Kenyan people in Africa. Our implementing partner in North Eastern Province of Kenya Development Concern (Devcon) a Kenya registred NGO is looking for funds to address the situation in a timely and efficient way. Your donation will help save the lives of vulnerable people, children, the elderly and women, by providing them with the basic needs such as water and food. Currently, the whole community in that area is living in extreme conditions in the North Eastern Province of Kenya Africa.
Let’s join our efforts together and help them in this difficult situation. HCI, will ensure that your Zakat or other donation is used to relieve suffering, restore dignity and support the needy people in their efforts to become more self-sufficient.
