Refugees in Lebanon
The situation in North Lebanon is dire. HCI regional office is located in Tripoli, the centre of the current crisis. Our staff reported that about 40,000 persons are facing the bombardments and unsafe related conditions. Many buildings have been hit. People inside the hit area are coping without food, electricity, and water. Chronically ill people, pregnant women, elders and children are facing death, injuries or suffocation each and every moment. Live fires are all around with no ability to put them down by any party. Medical personnel and ambulances are unable to get into the area to evacuate the injured and death most of the time. Some of them have been hit during the evacuation of injured.
In face of this situation, and in response to the urgent needs, HCI is cooperating with a local partner to deliver Hot Meals for the displaced in the schools and mosques in the area. Other relief aids are covered by other parties. HCI and partner team will be present at a near site to deliver the relief aids.
Your compassion and donations are urgently needed to respond quickly to this human tragedy. Please give generously…every dollar counts. No amount is too little. The time to act is NOW. |
