Calgary's CSP.

The late Moath Sabbah -- a committed and dedicated member of Calgary's Child Sponsorship Program.

During the Holy month of Ramadan, on the night of Friday October 22nd 2004, a very committed and dedicated member of the local Child Sponsorship Program (CSP) committee of Calgary; Moath Sabbah, lost his life in a fatal car accident while changing a flat tire on the road side.

During this month, the prospect of building a school for children in Ethiopia was introduced to us by HCI. Moath was working together with the CSP team toward collecting funds for building this school. Moath was a highly valued member of the Calgary Muslim community due to his selfless dedication and persistent hard work in serving the community. The funds for the school were raised within weeks, and the school in Ethiopia has been named after Moath Sabbah. Currently, we are raising funds to build 2 more schools in Ethiopia.

A great deal of interest has been expressed by the community in expanding and further developing the CSP program in Calgary. This has enabled us to increase the number of sponsored children, build an interactive website which allows on-line donations, work on other relief projects supported by HCI, and it has opened new channels for raising funds.

On behalf of the Calgary CSP team, we would like to thank HCI for their support, accessibility, and for providing the youth of Calgary an opportunity to engage in such rewarding humanitarian efforts to help the needy around the world.

Our staff and team of local and international volunteers ensures that your donations reach the needy. Whether in Afghanistan, Bosnia or right here in Canada our volunteers bring unique insight, expertise, knowledge and commitment to their local communities. They are able to ensure your donations reach the needy in a timely manner -- we were the first to provide aid in Iraq after the recent invasion.

HCI has been able to plan, initiate, and implement various projects and programs across the globe, thanks to the hard work and effort of our field workers, partner organizations, and volunteers. None of our initiatives would have been possible without the contribution and continued financial support that you and others have been extending to us. You afforded us the opportunity to carry out the noble work and make the difference in the lives of many.

Together, we can and have been providing hope and happiness to the poor and the impoverished. Thank you again for your continued support. HCI's growth is attributable to the commitment of our volunteers to the fundamental values of participation, integrity and excellence.
