Somalia on the Brink of a Famine

Three consecutive years of drought have left two regions of Somalia on the brink of emergency. On Sunday, Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khaire announced the deaths from starvation of 110 people in 48 hours in the country’s south-west.

It is six years since Somalia’s last famine killed some 260,000 people. Now, nearly 6.2 million people – more than half the population – face acute food and water shortages and almost three million are going hungry.

HCI is on the ground distributing food packages to the individuals and families who are suffering. With just $50 we can provide a family with food essentials. Donate below to assist the people of Somalia who need your help.
